Responding to news of the Trump administration’s executive actions moving the Keystone and Dakota pipelines forward, while citing their many benefits, economist Nick Loris told Breitbart News Daily SiriusXM host Alex Marlow on Wednesday, “even the Obama administration’s own State Department said that the Keystone XL pipeline wouldn’t contribute significantly to climate change.”
Loris is an economist focusing on energy, environmental, and regulatory issues at the Heritage Foundation.
Added Loris, the Obama administration “reviewed the environmental impact of the pipeline on four different occasions and said it would impose minimal environmental risk.” He also pointed out that Obama’s own Energy Secretary, Steven Chu, said Obama’s decision to not go forward with the pipelines “was a political one, not one based upon any scientific merit.”
