Google testing chat with doctors for people searching symptoms

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., Oct. 13 (UPI) —

Google is testing a new feature where people searching for health problems online can video chat with a doctor. Google will be covering the cost of any video chat someone has with a doctor while the selected few test the feature, but it is likely you’ll have to pay for the service if it ever launches.

The company told Engadget they are testing the feature, but few details were given. A screenshot that was posted to Imgur by someone testing the service shows what the feature might look like. It says: "Based on your search query, we think you are trying to understand a medical condition. Here you can find health care providers who you can visit with over video chat. All visit costs are covered by Google during this limited trial." The service might be the answer to the problem of people searching symptoms and finding diseases and disorders they don’t have that just happen to match some of the problems they’re having. It might also be a more affordable option than going to a clinic.
