The official Twitter account of the Ghostbusters remake has seemingly endorsed Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton as the Democratic party’s convention comes to its conclusion.

As Clinton received the nomination for the presidency, the movie’s official Twitter account tweeted: “Boo-yah, we smashed your glass ceiling. There was a ghost behind it,” before following up with the hashtag #ImWithHer.

The Ghostbusters remake has been heavily criticised since its release, with a rating of 5.4/10 on IMDb and an official trailer with nearly 1 million dislikes on YouTube.

The film also opened to empty theatres across the US with official merchandise being put on sale racks before the film was even released.

Breitbart Tech editor Milo Yiannopoulos’s criticism of the film as well for its social justice narrative and “hatred of all men” as well as the performances of lead actresses led to a confrontation with Leslie Jones on Twitter which resulted in him being permanent banned from the platform, known for its disdain of conservative media.
