Dubai Market Plunges 8.3% on Debt Fears

AFP: Stock markets in Dubai fell sharply on Monday and then ground to a halt amid a lack of buyers, still reeling from Dubai World’s shock proposal to suspend debt payments. The emirate’s benchmark DFM Index shed 8.30 percent as leading securities, including construction and finance, plunged after trading recommenced following a four-day holiday.
