Former CIA operative and 2016 third-party presidential candidate Evan McMullin said Sunday that he believes he will be running for public office again, although he is keeping his plans close to the vest.
“I haven’t decided if I’ll pursue elected office in 2018,” McMullin said on MSNBC. “I do believe that I will run again, pursue public office again. I don’t know when that is. I haven’t made a decision about 2018 or beyond.”
He later added, “It is a very difficult decision to run for office. I just learned that firsthand. My campaign was short and unconventional, but very intense. Sometimes it seems like things haven’t changed much, even months after the election … But then it’s also how can I best serve the country and the state of Utah.”
