On Sunday, a Cyber Depot clerk shot and wounded a robbery suspect who allegedly entered the store, “flashed a gun,” and demanded money.

The incident occurred in Cleveland, Ohio. According to the Cleveland Patch, the clerk told police he was robbed and afterward grabbed a gun and gave chase. The clerk said he yelled at the suspect — telling him “to stop” — and the suspect responded by allegedly pulling his gun again. The clerk then shot the suspect, wounding him in the leg.

The suspect continued to flee and Cyber Depot security gave chase, but the suspect was able to escape. It was later learned that the suspect was able to elude security because they came across another shooting victim during the pursuit and turned aside to help that victim.

Police eventually located and apprehended the suspect, whom they identified as 32-year-old Renard D. Carter.
