Actress Cate Blanchett may win an Oscar for her performance in the Woody Allen film Blue Jasmine. One reporter didn’t want her to opine on the film or her work in it this weekend.
Hollywood Elsewhere’s Jeffrey Wells cornered Blanchett during a red carpet appearance at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival to get her reaction to Dylan Farrow’s open letter accusing Allen of sexually abusing her years earlier.
The open letter offered painful details about the alleged sexual assault, putting a decades old story into new, stark light.
Blanchett’s answer sounded like it was designed not to roil anyone’s emotions, but some may find her distant tone offensive considering the gravity of the accusations.
It’s obviously been a long and painful situation for the family and I hope they find some resolution and peace.
