Investigators who are trying to piece together the reasons why Adam Lanza committed the horrific murders in Newtown, Connecticut, are being slowed by the fact that Lanza smashed his computer. One official said, “He was eliminating [investigators’] ability to figure out what websites he had gone to or who he might have been communicating with.”
Police have to use other options for deciphering what triggered the attack; they are looking for those who may have communicated with Lanza prior to the assault, as well as examining Lanza’s medical history.
Information has been limited in being released because of impending meetings with survivors, police said. Lt. J. Paul Vance, a spokesman for the Connecticut State Police, said. “Suffice it to say, I want to make sure you understand, we will cover every single facet.” Lanza had no criminal record.
