Bloomberg Group Undertakes 100-Day Bus Tour to Push Gun Control

NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s gun control group, Mayors Against Illegal Guns, is “launching a cross country bus tour” as part of the latest efforts to get more gun control legislation passed.

The tour will start on June 14–the six month anniversary of the heinous crime at Sandy Hook Elementary–and will consist of stops where the names of the Newtown victims will be read and members of Congress will be urged to support more gun laws.

The bus tour is complimented by an ongoing ad campaign critical of Senators who opposed the failed gun control legislation earlier in April of this year.

Right now, a $400,000 ad campaign against Sen. Kelly Ayotte (R-NH) is ongoing. Sen. Mark Pryor (D-AR), who has made it clear he does not take marching orders from Bloomberg when it comes to guns, is also being targeted.

The Bloomberg-backed campaign against Pryor consists of $350,000 “worth of negative cable and broadcast ads.”
