Christie Bristles When Asked about GOP Governors Campaigning for Cuomo Challenger

“Do I look like I’m taking any questions?” New Jersey Governor Chris Christie snapped at Breitbart News when asked for his response to his colleagues’ plan to campaign with Republican Westchester County Executive Rob Astorino, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo’s opponent this year.

Christie slammed Astorino and his long shot race against Cuomo recently, telling NJ.com he would only “spend time in places where we have a chance to win — I said that right from the beginning.” He then added, “We don’t pay for landslides, and we don’t invest in lost causes.”

However, after Republican Governors Association members found out that Christie tried to convince New York State GOP Chairman Ed Cox to keep Astorino away from the RGA conference, Governors like Rick Perry, Bobby Jindal, Nikki Haley, Scott Walker, and Mike Pence offered to campaign with Astorino and raise money for the Westchester GOP’er.

“I helped him years ago when he first was a county executive and that was when I was a county executive. And I was happy to give him some insights and thought the world of him. I was in Milwaukee County he was in Westchester and both are very Democratic leaning counties,” said Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker.

Indiana Gov. Mike Pence told Breitbart News he recently spoke to Astorino. “He’s a great guy and dynamic candidate, and I look forward to campaigning with him in New York.”

“Rob is a great candidate. I think as a Republican Party and a conservative party we have to compete in every state,” Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal told Breitbart News.
