Businessman Paul Nehlen, who is challenging Speaker Paul Ryan in a primary to represent Wisconsin’s 1st District, joined Breitbart News Sunday on SiriusXM hosts Alex Marlow and Stephen K. Bannon to discuss his trip to the southern border with Breitbart Texas editor Brandon Darby.

“You come down here and there’s no security at all. There’s none. It’s shocking,” said Nehlen.

Pointing out that his home district is surrounded by sanctuary cities Chicago, Milwaukee, and Madison, Nehlen sees it as a problem with ramifications for his home district. Asked if it affects people there, he said, “I know it affects them. If there’s no security here and someone gets over the border, they can go to Wisconsin. They can go anywhere they want once they get in.”

Nehlen said he planned on spending all the time necessary in the area to fully understand the problem.

Told of Sarah Palin’s endorsement of his candidacy, he said, “I can’t thank Gov. Palin enough for her endorsement.” As Breitbart News reported:

Former U.S. vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin vowed on Sunday to help unseat Paul Ryan, the top Republican in the House of Representatives, because of the his refusal to endorse presumptive Republican nominee Donald Trump.

Palin, the former Alaska governor and Trump supporter, endorsed conservative businessman Paul Nehlen, who is challenging Ryan, the House speaker, for his congressional seat in the Wisconsin Republican nominating contest on Aug. 9.

“I will do whatever I can for Paul Nehlen,” Palin said in an interview with CNN. “This man is a hardworking guy, so in touch with the people.”

Breitbart News Sunday is broadcast live on SiriusXM Patriot Channel 125 Sunday evenings from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Eastern. The full interview with Ryan challenger Paul Nehlen may be heard below:
