President Donald Trump dismissed the idea that students on college campuses were against him and his agenda.
“It’s highly overblown,” Donald Trump said to an audience of millennial activists at the White House and explained that he had great support in colleges across the country.
The president was interviewed by Turning Point USA’s Charlie Kirk, who asked him about campus leadership and teachers censoring conservatives.
Trump said that the “super left” and groups like Antifa got a lot of attention in the media but that they were in the minority.
“You go to the real campuses and go all over the country, the middle west, go out to the coast, in many cases, we have a tremendous support,” he said. “I’d say we have majority support.”
Trump said that the public polls continued to miss the average Trump supporter who would still vote for him and his agenda.
“People came out that nobody knew existed,” Trump said, referring to the 2016 election. “The Democrats are looking for those people right now.”
