Sixth Annual G.I. Film Festival Releases 2012 Lineup

The sixth annual G.I. Film Festival is set to hit the Nation’s Capital next month, along with one of the summer’s most eagerly awaited films.

“Battleship,” based on the popular board game and directed by Peter Berg, will be screened in advance during the patriotic festival.

Overall, the sixth annual GIFF film line-up offers 42 film screenings, movies that represent every branch of the military and span five wars. Over the course of the six-day event, the festival will offer 23 narrative films and 19 documentaries covering every genre conceivable – from action and adventure to drama and romance. With at least a dozen world premiere screenings, GIFF offers plenty of opportunities to discover emerging directors, producers and actors. GIFF is proud to welcome many promising and established military veteran filmmakers.

This year’s seven-day festival begins May 14 and will feature a filmmaker boot camp as well as a tribute to former presidential candidate Ross Perot.
