Rosie O'Donnell: I Bashed Lohan To Help Her!

Rosie O’Donnell is trying to back away from the table. Seriously.

O’Donnell stepped up to the plate when she lambasted the Lifetime network for casting Lindsay Lohan as the late Elizabeth Taylor: “The last thing she did good (was when) she was 16. I don’t think she’s right for the role, and I don’t think she’s capable at this point to portray that character.”

After Lohan responded by saying she was shocked by O’Donnell’s rip because they had been friendly since Lohan was a kid, O’Donnell lamely said she was really only concerned about Lohan’s health:

“To me working right now seems like a bad idea it is not about her talent it is about her health Lindsay Lohan needs help … I met her when she was a young girl smart adorable and full of light we all watched her this last decade a true Hollywood story … the exact feeling I had watching Whitney Houston‘s funeral in Newark we all should have spoken up for her too … We believe in u, u r not alone help is available u r loved. Lindsay Lohan is worth saving she is the only one who can do it before it is 2 late, I hope she can finds (sic) her value – off camera. And then – when she returns – on camera she will wow us all once more peace.”

Returning to O’Donnell’s original criticism, that Lohan isn’t right for the role; if Lohan, who has boozed and sexed it up, can’t play Taylor, whose revolving-door marriages were so frequent that she kept hinge companies in business, who’s better suited? Paris Hilton?

O’Donnell may have pushed herself away from the plate, but with her mouth, it’s only a matter of time before she takes a bite out of something else.
