Sen. Cites Rolling Stones' Abu Dhabi Concert to Help Free U.S. Citizen

A 29-year-old U.S. citizen remains in a United Arab Emirates jail for making a video mocking Dubai’s youth culture, and one Senator is using a classic rock band to plead the man’s case.

Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) is defending Shezanne Cassim by citing an upcoming concert in the country by the Rolling Stones.

I figure if Mick Jagger can play Abu Dhabi, these guys shouldn’t be in jail for putting a video up,” Klobuchar told CNN’s “New Day.” “If he’s not home by the time of that Rolling Stones concert, they’ve got a problem. They can’t have Mick Jagger up there singing his songs and then have this guy in jail.

The Stones are set to play in Abu Dhabi for the first time Feb. 21, 2014.
