Film producer Dana Brunetti took to Twitter Tuesday to refute Alec Baldwin’s claims that he did not know actress Nikki Reed was underage when the two of them filmed racy scenes for the 2006 independent movie Mini’s First Time.

The R-rated dramedy follows a young woman (Nikki Reed) who begins working with an escort agency where her stepfather (Alec Baldwin) is also a client.

Baldwin writes in his new memoir, Nevertheless, that he never knew how old his underaged co-star was.

“I was 47, and it never occurred to me to ask how old Nikki Reed was,” Baldwin reveals in his new book. “When I found out, just as we finished, that she was 17, I flipped out on the producers, who had told me something different.”

Brunettti — who has produced the Twilight film franchise and 50 Shades of Grey — wasted no time, hitting back at Baldwin and confirming that the actor “knew Reed was 16, didn’t find out AFTER filming, and did not yell at us.”

“My first indie film was Mini’s starring who knew was 16 (not 17) and he didn’t mind,” Brunettti wrote on Twitter Tuesday in what ended up being a series of messages explaining his side of the story.

“It’s a lie,” Brunetti further told The Hollywood Reporter on Wednesday. “I read it and was like, ‘What the f—. Of course he totally knew how old she was. That’s why there’s no nudity in the movie. He knew before we even cast the movie. I think he’s been method acting Trump too much and he doesn’t know the difference between fake news anymore.”

Brunetti added that Baldwin chose Reed for the role himself during casting.

Baldwin has not yet responded publicly to the producer’s claims.
