Wednesday morning Jake Tapper reportedthat the White House attempted to contextualize the President’s latest explanation for his broken promise about people keeping their health insurance:

Isn’t the President about three years late with that clarification of the law’s intent?
Americans are not confused about what the law means, not anymore. With millions of cancellation notices going out, they get it now.
The question is why didn’t they know much sooner. The answer, ofcourse, is that the President spent two years saying “If you like yourplan, you can keep your plan.” In fact, he said something very similar just a few days before the Oct. 1st launch of the health exchange.
At this point the country doesn’t need an explanation of the law it needs an explanation of the lies used to promote the law.
