Attack of the demon baby

The pointless and forgettable remake of “Carrie” released last fall was accompanied by a truly awesome publicity stunt, in which a coffee shop was rigged to simulate a telekinetic rampage by an enraged teenage girl.

The new movie “Devil’s Due,” which seems like another invitation to unflattering comparison by reinventing “Rosemary’s Baby,” also had a great publicity stunt: a remote-controlled animatronic demon baby running amok through the streets of New York.  The people who aren’t freaked out by this stunt are almost as funny as the people who are.
