Six Flags San Antonio Refuses Disabled Vet on Rides, Denies Refund

Sgt. Stephen Jackel is military veteran who lost both of his legs in Afghanistan, but when he recently took his 14-year-old daughter to Six Flags Fiesta Texas in San Antonio, he did not get a hero’s welcome.  As reported by KHOU-TV Houston, Jackel was told by the amusement park staff that because of his prosthetic legs, he was not allowed to go on some of the park’s rides because of their safety policies and was not offered a refund.

After waiting in a long line, Jackel was never informed of these policies while purchasing his tickets.

Adding insult to injury, when Jackel asked the park to return his money his refund request was denied. He says Six Flags would only offer him complimentary tickets for a future visit, but the safety policies that restrict him from riding would remain unchanged.

After various media outlets began to report on Jackel’s experience, Six Flags now claims they “will work” with Jackel to try and get him his refund, according to KHOU.
