Scott Brown Expresses 'Concerns' Over Stephanopoulos Ties to Jeanne Shaheen

In an appearance on Wednesday’s broadcast of “Fox & Friends,” New Hampshire Republican U.S. Senate hopeful Scott Brown was asked by co-host Brian Kilmeade about a potential conflict of interest involving his opponent, incumbent Sen. Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH) and the moderator of a Thursday debate between the two, which is ABC’s “This Week” moderator George Stephanopoulos.

The link according to a story published by Breitbart News involves his ties to Shaheen operative Mandy Grunwald.

“Let me ask if this concerns you,” Kilmeade said. “You’ve got one more debate left that’s tomorrow. George Stephanopoulos is the moderator. He’s linked, one of his best friends in business is Mandy Grunwald, a key strategist for jean shaheen. Do you feel you’re going to get a fair shake?”

Brown seemed to somewhat downplay that aspect, but admitted he did have concerns.

“Well, I hope so,” Brown replied. “I don’t have any doubt that George will be fair and impartial. I obviously have concerns, had concerns. The bottom line is I’m going to debate. I’ll debate any time anywhere. We accepted seven. She accepted four. Each and every debate we were able to draw those stark contrasts. And people are ready to make their choices. Every time I’m out and about, I’m voting for you, I’m voting for you. I feel the momentum. What they’re trying to do, they’re trying to smear my voting record, change the facts. It is a sign of desperation. That is what happens when you can’t explain why you’re voting with the president 99 percent of the time on border, on energy, on immigration. Just pick a topic. She’s there in lock step.”
