Clarke: Pushing Gun Control After CA Attack ‘Disconnected’ From Reality

Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke (D) stated the San Bernardino attack is not a gun control issue and anyone who thinks it is “is disconnected” from reality on Friday’s “Varney & Co.” on the Fox Business Network.

Clarke said that anyone who believes the shooting in San Bernardino “is not is not dealing with reality. Anybody that thinks that this is a gun control issue is disconnected that same reality. It’s fantasy to think it’s anything other than this. Look, these are red flags that we’re missing on open sources. The reason we’re missing it is because we don’t have the proper domestic intelligence apparatus here in the United States to deal with this stuff, to go to open sources and other areas. And you find these little tidbits of information, that, in and of itself, may not be a huge deal. maybe not be a crime. But if you have a true analyst, that can piece this together, before the act happens, before boom as the MI-5 likes to say, a picture developed, and that’s when you move in.”

Clarke added, “I’d start with a true domestic intelligence, set up similar to MI-5 or Mossad here in Israel to start, because intelligence is going to be your best chance at disrupting, detecting and preventing these things, that’s what I’d do first. Look, Stuart we just don’t have quality intelligence right now. We’re fooling ourselves. When I say we, the FBI is not the proper agency. They’re an investigative agency, they are not an intelligence agency. They look for evidence of a crime after the attack occurs.”
