‘Morning Joe’: Email, Clinton Foundation Controversies Having an Impact on Hillary Poll Numbers

During the opening segment of MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” co-hosts Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski acknowledged that Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton’s controversies regarding her email and her association with the Clinton Foundation were having an impact on her presidential bid.

According a Monmouth University poll, Clinton had last 5 percent of her support nationally, while Trump had gained 2 percent. Despite that erosion, Clinton still holds a seven-point lead over Trump in the poll with a 3.7 percent margin of error.

“Just looking at those numbers, Willie – it’s obvious that the email and [Clinton] Foundation news that came out over the past two weeks had an impact,” Scarborough said.

“It does. It’s really concerning,” Brzezinski added.

Despite Trump’s gains, Scarborough went on to note Trump’s 26 percent favorable and 57 percent unfavorable numbers in that same Monmouth poll as a reason to dismiss the suggestion that Trump is the future of the Republican Party.
