Tuesday on CNN’s “New Day,” Rep. Sean Duffy (R-WI) took aim at the some 40-plus lawmakers vowing to skip President-elect Donald Trump’s inauguration ceremonies on Friday.
“I’m disappointed that all these Democrats are saying they’re going to stay home. It’s like, you know what, I’m a little kid and I’m used to getting a juice box and a trophy, no matter whether I win or I lose,” Duffy said.
Later in the segment, Duffy warned this will divide the country even more in the future.
“Are Republicans now supposed to say that we’re going to stay home?” he added. “That these events become partisan in nature? That’s bad for the country. Show up, be part of it, put your big-boy pants on and let’s start working together.”
