HBCU Talladega College Shines as Trump Celebrates Inauguration at Parade

WASHINGTON — Despite angry protests going on just blocks away, President Donald Trump celebrated the 58th presidential inauguration, a tradition that goes back to the founding of the country.

Defying much criticism, the historically black college Talladega College Marching Tornadoes put on arguably the best performance Friday before a crowd of several thousand on the parade route along Pennsylvania Avenue between the U.S. Capitol and the White House.

A GoFundMe account had been set up to help cover the expenses for the band’s performance at the inauguration. As of post-parade, the account has raised $669,000, far beyond its goal of $75,000.

Throughout the rest of the parade, Trump saluted numerous other marching bands, including all of the U.S. military as the confirmation of his cabinet appointees was underway.
