Producer Harvey Weinstein: NRA 'Going To Wish They Weren't Alive After I'm Done'

Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein said he and actress Meryl Streep are going to make a movie taking the NRA “head-on” and that the gun rights group “will wish they weren’t alive after [he’s] done with them.”

Weinstein made these comments Wednesday on Howard Stern’s SiriusXM radio show.

According to the Washington Times, Weinstein would not reveal specifics about the movie, other than to say it will be a “big movie like a ‘Mr. Smith Goes to Washington'” rather than a documentary.

But he wasn’t shy about discussing his hatred for firearms and the NRA.

At point he said, “I don’t think we need guns in this country. And I hate it.” At another point he said he would not want to own gun stocks when his movie comes out: “Gun stocks–I don’t want to be involved in that stuff. It’s going to be like crash and burn.”

Weinstein is one of President Barack Obama’s biggest Hollywood supporters.

Breitbart News spoke to the NRA about Weinstein’s comments but at the time of this article’s publication they had issued no comment.
