Actor and comedian Seth Rogen is pushing ahead with his retreat explanation regarding a statement he made on Twitter, where he likened the Iraq War biopic American Sniper to a Nazi propaganda film.
On Jan. 18, Rogen tweeted:
American Sniper kind of reminds me of the movie that's showing in the third act of Inglorious Basterds.

The following day, he partially redacted and tweeted, “I just said something ‘kinda reminded’ me of something else. I actually liked American Sniper. It just reminded me of the Tarantino scene.” “I wasn’t comparing the two. Big difference between comparing and reminding. Apples remind me of oranges. Can’t compare them, though,” he further elaborated. In a strange turn of events, Rogen then found a way to blame the media for his moronic statement faux pas:

Thursday, four days after a “guilty” media continued to hold him accountable for comparing a story about the life of an American hero to a Tarantino work of fiction, Rogen again addressed the masses on Twitter.
“I truly hope this clears things up,” he posted, along with a statement, which reads:
It appears I need to further clarify a tweet I sent a few days ago; I said a sniper movie kind of reminded me of another movie that involved a sniper movie. I didn’t compare the two at all. I merely said that one kind of reminded me of the other, because they both involved plots about the most lethal of snipers.
People then claimed that I compared the movie American Sniper to Nazi propaganda, something I would NEVER do, (I’ve already publicly explained that I enjoyed American Sniper) and also implied that I somehow have something against Chris Kyle and veterans in general, neither of which are true in the least. My grandfather was a veteran.
My comment about the movie was not meant to have any political implications. Any political meaning was ascribed to my comment by news commentary. I’m sorry if this somehow offended anyone, but that was not my intention. I hope this clears things up.
It is worth noting that the aforementioned news commentators stood behind Rogen after his film, The Interview, failed to generate laughs sparked an international incident.
