United Talent Agency has announced it will be the first Hollywood firm to launch a fine arts division.

As one of the largest talent agencies in the world, UTA’s new division plans to serve as a super gallery for clients, which it hopes will open a new market and revenue stream for the agency, according to Deadline.

“We want fine artists to feel that they have someone in their corner, providing the infrastructure to advance and protect their business interests so they may do their best work,” said Jim Berkus, the agency’s chairman. “We believe there is room for a serious, professional, representation structure in the art world, one that helps artists gain greater control of their careers and opens doors to new and better opportunities.”

UTA reportedly has no plans to sell the art, but rather has strategized to partner up with existing galleries. The agency will conduct business in the same manner in which it does for clients in film and television.

As with film and TV clientele, UTA will charge a standard 10% commission on projects and contracts acquired for clients under their fine arts division.

Joshua Roth, whose father helped launch Creative Artists Agency, will spearhead the endeavor, which will open up the world of sculptors, photographers, mixed media and multi-platform artists for the agency.

UTA currently staffs more than 135 agents who represent actors, writers, directors, producers, recording artists, and also those considered below the line talent. Key clients of the agency include Angelina Jolie, Johnny Depp, Seth Rogen, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Barbra Streisand.
