Country music star and actor Tim McGraw has teamed up with Operation Homefront, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, and Chase to give away dozens of mortgage-free homes to U.S. military veterans during his summer tour.

Entertainment Tonight reports that McGraw, 48, feels connected to America’s veterans, and first teamed up with Operation Homefront and Chase three years ago.

Together, the group has awarded more than 100 homes to vets, and they aren’t finished.

“[These are] people who have given us security for a lot of years,” McGraw told ET, “and we’re able to do that back for them in a small way.”

“The heart and soul of commitment, loyalty, service, and honor — that kind of dedication in generations of service is a rare and exceptional beauty,” he told Operation Homefront of his love for veterans. “I want to be an American and I want to be free. You make me proud to be an American and because of you I am free.”

Throughout his Shotgun Rider Tour this summer, the singer and his partners plan to award a total of 36 homes to vets in need.

In addition to having an uncle and numerous friends who have served in America’s military, McGraw told ET: “My sister is a veteran; she was in the first Gulf War.”

Ross Brown, the director of Military and Veterans Affairs at Chase, said in a statement obtained by the site: “Everyone who is part of this program is working toward one goal — ensuring a bright and successful future for veterans and their families.”
