Bruce Jenner is set to join the cast of Amazon’s Emmy-winning show Transparent, the show’s creator confirmed Saturday.

In an interview at the GLAAD Media Awards over the weekend, showrunner Jill Soloway confirmed that the reality TV star and former Olympian would appear in the show’s upcoming third season, though offered few details about the character Jenner will play.

“We are all part of the same community,” Soloway told the Associated Press. “A lot of the transwomen who work on our show are also in her show I Am Cait. Lots of crossover. Lots of friends.”

The news came on the heels of Transparent‘s win for Outstanding Comedy Series at the annual GLAAD awards Saturday night. The show centers on the family of transgender woman Maura Pfefferman (played by Jeffrey Tambor), who must navigate the family patriarch’s transition.

Jenner’s E! reality series, I Am Cait, tied with TLC’s I Am Jazz for Outstanding Reality Series at the GLAAD Awards on Saturday.

Soloway had invited Jenner to appear on the show ahead of its second season last year. The showrunner told Variety in June that her show was part of a “revolution” in how trans people are perceived and depicted on television.

“Sometimes I just trip on the fact that [Jenner] is the patriarch of the most famous family on the planet,” she said then. “There’s an international resonance with people recognizing that trans people are people, too.”

Transparent, one of Amazon’s first original series, took home five Emmys (out of 11 total nominations) for its first season in 2015, including a directing prize for Soloway and Outstanding Lead Actor for Tambor. The show was also named Best Comedy Series at the Golden Globes last year, and was nominated for three more awards this year.

At a Television Academy panel last month moderated by Star Wars director J.J. Abrams, Tambor, 71, discussed the development of the Maura Pfefferman character.

“We went on a field trip to the Oxwood Inn (in Van Nuys) and we went into the bathroom and we put Maura’s wig on and we looked in the mirror and there she was,” he told the audience. “It was like an old friend. And we danced. I was shaking. And I told myself, ‘Never forget this shaking.’ It was a very important night.”

“The world is changing, and for us to be part of it is everything I thought acting was,” he added. “People’s lives depend on this. Lives are at stake. And that’s quite a mission.”
