Lil Kim sparked outrage from social justice warriors Sunday night after she posted a picture revealing her new, whiter-than-ever face and blonde hair.
Lil Kim, lesser known as Kimberly Denise Jones, and her new look were met with a tsunami of social media hate. Some on social media reacted by accusing Lil Kim of “looking white.”

I grew up listening to Lil' Kim, I loved her because she was so confident & I admired that, not realizing she was hurting. @LilKim

Indeed, the 41-year-old rapper is no stranger to controversy and heartache fueled by her ever-changing appearance.
“All my life men have told me I wasn’t pretty enough — even the men I was dating. And I’d be like, ‘Well, why are you with me, then?'” Lil Kim said 16 years ago. “It’s always been men putting me down just like my dad. To this day when someone says I’m cute, I can’t see it. I don’t see it no matter what anybody says.”
Lil Kim has been very vocal and open about her plastic surgery. In 2005, Lil Kim told New York radio host Angie Martinez that the criticism she receives for getting nose jobs and other plastic surgeries doesn’t upset her.
“It don’t bother me because I told you, I’m beautiful,” Lil Kim said. “I love myself. … People think I did it because I had low self-esteem, but that wasn’t the case. I think I did it because I was a little too vain.”
However, it appears that Lil Kim is happy with who she is and how she looks.
In what appears to have been a response to the massive amount of invective her blonde-hair selfies received, Lil Kim unleashed a retro photo of herself that included an profanity-filled message to her naysayers.
The photos of Lil Kim seen above were taken in the early 90s, before the emergence of social justice warriors. Lil Kim is obviously happy about her career — her Twitter and Instagram timelines say as much — and does not hold the view that she was herself when she had darker skin and black hair.
