Palestinian Authority Urges Arabs to Boycott Countries that Moved Embassies to Jerusalem

The Times of Israel reports: Senior Palestinian Authority official Saeb Erekat on Monday urged Arab countries to sever diplomatic ties with the United States, Guatemala and Paraguay over the countries’ relocation of their embassies to Jerusalem.

His comments came as Paraguay opened its new embassy in Jerusalem on Monday, making it the third country to do so, in what Erekat lambasted as an “irresponsible” violation of international law. “We are already in contact with several allies to advance with the necessary diplomatic steps against the recent illegal moving of the embassies of Paraguay, Guatemala, and the United States, to Jerusalem,” said Erekat in a statement.

“We particularly call upon Arab countries that host diplomatic missions of these countries to implement the previous resolutions of the Arab League of 1980, 1990 and 2000 to ‘severing all ties with states that transfer their embassies to Jerusalem or recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel,’” he added.
