Antioch Resident Opens Fire On Two Home Instruders

On December 9, an Antioch homeowner shot and wounded one of two burglars found in his home.

According to the San Francisco Chronicle, the wife texted her husband–who was working at home–to let him know a motion detector sensor had gone off.

Upon receiving the news, the man armed himself and searched the back of the house. As he did, he found “two people…going through his belongings.” He confronted them and opened fire.

At first there was no confirmation that the homeowners’ shots hit the would-burglars, then the suspects showed up at Sutter Delta Medical Center in Antioch and one of the two had “numerous gunshot wounds.”

The shooting marked the second time in four days that a homeowner in Contra Costa County has had to open “fire on a burglary suspect.”
