Senator Ted Cruz Visits Afghanistan and Israel with Congressional Delegation

US Senator Ted Cruz has announced that he and four other Senators have concluded their congressional delegation to Afghanistan and Israel. The delegation also included Senator Mitch McConnell (R-KY), Senator John Barrasso (R-WY), Senator Jeff Flake (R-AZ), and Senator Deb Fischer (R-NE).

The press release for the delegation states:

“During the trip, the Senators met with U.S. military personnel, military officials and political leaders to discuss political, economic and security issues affecting bilateral and regional relations.

In addition to visiting troops from Texas, Sen. Cruz joined the Senators to meet with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Major General Larry Nicholson, and General John Allen, Commander of the International Security Assistance Force. The delegation returns to Washington, D.C., on Tuesday.”

Senator Cruz rose from the grassroots in Texas to overcome the GOP establishment’s Lt. Governor David Dewhurst for Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison’s US Senate seat in a primary, and later Democrat Paul Sadler in the election. Senator Cruz continues to be an outspoken supporter of our troops and a staunch ally of Israel.
