PAMPLONA, Spain, July 12 (UPI) — Bulls gored four people running through the streets of Pamplona, Spain, during the San Fermin festival, officials said.
The injured celebrants were taken to a hospital — apparently not seriously hurt, Britain’s Mirror reported.
The runners were gored on the sixth day of the running of the bulls.
ITV News said one bull charged a young man and pushed him around on the ground with its horns for nearly a half-minute as other runners tried to pull the animal away by its tail.
The San Fermin festival, which ends Saturday, is known worldwide for its running of the bulls and revelry.
The festival, which began about 400 years ago, became internationally popular after U.S. author Ernest Hemingway included it in his 1926 novel “The Sun Also Rises.”
