Report: Large Explosion, Syrian Air Defense Base Destroyed

An air defense base near Latakia, Syria, was reportedly destroyed on the night of October 30.

Reports of a “loud explosion” were issued and “multiple Syrian and Lebanese sources [speculate] that an Israeli strike from the Mediterranean was to blame.”

According to The Times of Israel, “unconfirmed reports [suggest] the explosion was the result of a missile strike from the sea.”

Latakia is located on Syria’s coast–an area “which remains loyal to the Assad regime.”

Earlier in the day on October 30, “the Lebanese government news agency reported six Israeli aircraft flying through Lebanese airspace along the coast north of Beirut.”
