May 21 (UPI) — The Detroit Lions signed All-Pro linebacker Jack Campbell to a four-year contract extension, they announced Thursday.
Terms of the pact were not disclosed. Campbell, the No. 18 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, was entering the final year of his rookie contract. He is now under contract with the Lions through 2030.
“I just wanted to let you guys know, I signed my extension,” Campbell said in a video posted Thursday on the Lions’ social media platforms. “I’m excited to be back. I’m excited to be here long term. Now it’s time to go win a Super Bowl.”
Campbell did not miss a game through his first three seasons. He started all 34 games for the Lions over the last two years. The former Iowa Hawkeyes star totaled a career-high and NFC-best 176 combined tackles, with nine tackles for a loss and five sacks last season.
His 89 solo takedowns also led the NFC and ranked fourth in the NFL. He also recorded four passes defensed, three forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries in 2025, en route to first-team All-Pro and Pro Bowl honors.
The Lions linebacker totaled 402 combined tackles through his first three seasons.
Campbell, 25, was Detroit’s leading tackler over the last two campaigns. The Lions defense ranked 20th in 2024. They improved to 18th in 2025.
Lions players will report Wednesday for their first day of voluntary organized team activities. Lions mandatory minicamp will be June 16 and 17.
