EU leaders agree to roll over Russia economic sanctions by six months: official

Brussels (AFP) – EU leaders agreed at a summit on Friday to extend punishing economic sanctions against Russia over the conflict in Ukraine for a further six months, a European official said.

The 28 leaders meeting in Brussels had a “very short discussion” on the issue “that will lead to another six months rollover of sanctions” that were first imposed in July 2014, the official told AFP on condition of anonymity.
