High school choirs fill hotel with sound of national anthem

Feb. 12 (UPI) — A visitor to a Kentucky hotel captured video of multiple high school choirs coming together to sing the national anthem from the balconies of over a dozen floors.

Garrett Mager captured video Wednesday showing the high school choirs, in town for the Kentucky Music Educators Association’s Choir Finals, filling the Hyatt Regency in Louisville with the sounds of “The Star-Spangled Banner” by singing from the hotel’s lobby and the balconies of its many floors.

“Woke up in my hotel hearing a lot of noise outside in the lobby,” Mager wrote on Facebook. “I went out and found this.”

Participants said the performance of the national anthem is a yearly tradition for the choir meet.
