Oct. 16 (UPI) — Saturday Night Live icon Kate McKinnon has joined the cast of Percy Jackson and the Olympians for Season 3.
The Emmy-winning comic actress is set to play the Greek love goddess Aphrodite in the Disney+ adaptation of Rick Riordan’s best-selling fantasy novels.
This will be a recurring role for McKinnon.
Season 3 is based on the book The Titan’s Curse and started production in August.
Season 2, which was inspired by The Sea of Monsters, is set to premiere on Dec. 10.
The show stars Walker Scobell as Percy, Leah Sava Jeffries as Annabeth and Aryan Simhadri as Grover.
