March 1 (UPI) — Sinners star Michael B. Jordan won the Entertainer of the Year honor at the NAACP Image Awards ceremony at California’s Pasadena Civic Auditorium Saturday.
Jordan also picked up the prize for Best Actor in a Movie and his co-stars Miles Caton, Wunmi Mosaku and Delroy Lindo went home with the Best Breakthrough Performance, Best Supporting Actress and Best Supporting Actor statuettes respectively, while Sinners was named Best Picture and its cast earned the accolade for Best Ensemble in a Movie.
The film also won the awards for writing, directing, stunt ensemble, cinematography, soundtrack, score and costume design.
Several of these prizes were presented at a separate gala on Friday.
Cynthia Erivo won the Best Actress in a Movie trophy for her work in Wicked: For Good.
Quinta Brunson won the prize for Best Actress in a TV Comedy for Abbott Elementary, Cedric the Entertainer won for Best Actor in a Comedy statuette for The Neighborhood, Angela Bassett picked up the trophy for Outstanding Actress in a Drama Series for 9-1-1 and Sterling K. Brown went home with Outstanding Actor in a Drama Series prize for Paradise.
Comedian Deon Cole hosted Saturday’s event.
