Nasdaq ends at record on tech, media strength; Dow dips

New York (AFP) – The Nasdaq jumped to a fresh record Wednesday, boosted by tech and media shares, while the Dow continued to be weighed down by trade war anxiety.

At the closing bell, the tech-rich Nasdaq Composite Index stood at 7,781.56, up 0.7 percent. 

The Dow Jones Industrial Average shed 0.2 percent to 24,661.72, while the broad-based S&P 500 added 0.2 percent at 2,767.72.
