PM-in-waiting May wants ‘best deal for Britain’ with EU

London (AFP) – Theresa May, who will become British prime minister on Wednesday, said she wanted the “best deal” possible on leaving the EU in her first comments since her victory was confirmed Monday.

May said her campaign had been based on pillars including the need “to negotiate the best deal for Britain in leaving the EU and to forge a new role for ourselves in the world”.
