Police wrangle loose pig on Maine highway

Nov. 15 (UPI) — Maine State Police were called to a stretch of interstate to help capture a loose pig running wild in highway traffic.

The state police said in a Facebook post that Cpl. Rick Moody and Trooper Jeremy Caron worked with an animal control officer in Palmyra to remove the pig from Interstate 95 on Wednesday.

The post included a photo of the three men using a rope to lead the pig away from traffic.

Police said the “uncooperative” pig had been spotted several times during the past week and was finally taken “into custody” Wednesday.

“He waived the right to remain silent,” police joked in a comment on the post.

The pig’s origins were unclear.
