Russian opposition leader Navalny says freed after 30 days

Moscow (AFP) – Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny has been freed after serving a 30-day sentence for organising an illegal protest, he announced via social media on Thursday.

“I’m with you again after a 30-day business trip. I’m so happy to be free,” he wrote on Twitter, the day the World Cup is due to begin in Russia.
