US GDP growth revised up to 2.9% in fourth quarter 2017

Washington (AFP) – The world’s largest economy grew significantly faster at the end of 2017 than previously reported, with revised data showing stronger consumer spending and business investment, the government reported Wednesday.

GDP grew 2.9 percent in the fourth quarter, 0.4 points higher than the last the estimate, the Commerce Department said. That rate was significantly faster growth than analysts were expecting.
