Woman injures two in stabbing at French supermarket

June 17 (UPI) — A woman in France stabbed and injured two people at a supermarket on Sunday morning, French media said.

The woman carried out the attack using a sharp object, believed to be a boxcutter, at the supermarket in the town of La Seyne-sur-Mer, Europe 1 radio reported.

A customer sustained a chest injury and was hospitalized, while a woman at the market’s cash register sustained a less severe injury.

The assailant shouted “Allahu akbar,” which is “God is great” in Arabic, during the attack and Toulon prosecutor Bernard Marchal said she was arrested by police.
