Bridenstine Bringing Ty Woods' Dad to SOTU

Rep. Jim Bridenstine (R-OK) is determined to counter the Obama Administration’s efforts to sweep the massacre at the U.S. consulate attack in Benghazi, Libya under the rug. Bridenstine announced Monday that his personal guest at Tuesday’s State of the Union address will be Charles Woods, the father of Navy SEAL Ty Woods, who was murdered in the 2012 terrorist attack that the Obama Administration initially insisted was the result of an anti-Islam video.

In contrast to Bridenstine’s tribute to a fallen genuine American hero, Michelle Obama has invited former NBA player Jason Collins, who came out as gay, and was told by Barack Obama that Obama was “impressed by his courage.”

Bridenstine said that the GOP leadership has encouraged GOP representatives to bring people victimized by ObamaCare to Obama’s speech, but he is a combat veteran, and so he wanted to bring “a genuine victim of failed foreign policy.” He added:

As a combat veteran of Iraq and Afghanistan, I understand the importance of knowing that America leaves no one behind. I am honored to host the father of a true hero. The House of Representatives must establish a select committee to investigate the incident, the intelligence available, and the actions and inactions of those who should have been responsible for preventing the deaths of four Americans.

Charles Woods has been furious with the Obama Administration on several counts. He told Megyn Kelly in October of 2012:

If, in fact, those people in the White House were as courageous, and had the moral strength that my son Ty had, immediately, within minutes of when they found there was the first attack, they would have stepped–they would have given permission, not denied permission, for those C-130s to have gone up there. And this is exact–I don’t know much about weapons, but it’s coming out right now that they actually had laser targets focused on the mortars being sent to kill my son and they refused to pull the trigger. They refused to send those C-130s. To me–I’m an attorney, this may not legal test of murder. But to me, that is not only cowardice. For those people who made the decision and who knew about the decision and lied about it are murderers of my son.

Woods told Mike Huckabee that his son’s body was left on the tarmac for three hours and there was no American plane sent to rescue or even take his body home.

In May, 2013, Woods condemned Hillary Clinton for her actions, adding:

When I was approached by Hillary Clinton at the coming-home ceremony of the bodies at Andrews Air Force Base, and she said, “We’re going to go out and we’re going to prosecute that person that made the video,” I knew that she wasn’t telling the truth, and I think the whole world knows that now. She’s smarter than I am, she probably knew that well.
