Video: Protestors Describe Moments Before Shooting at Black Lives Matter Protest

A video of two protestors describing a shooting that took place near a Black Lives Matter event on Monday night has surfaced on YouTube, apparently describing what happened just moments before five people were shot.

“Officers on Tuesday are searching for three suspects after five people were shot during a Black Lives Matter protest late Monday in Minneapolis, where racial tensions have risen since 24-year-old Jamar Clark was shot by police on November 15. He later died,” reports Newsweek.

In the YouTube video, two protestors – who have their faces covered – say the crowd chased after alleged white supremacists that ran from the crowd and allegedly opened fire while being chased.

“We go back…we tried to get them to move around,” one man described. “We debate whether they’re white supremacist or not because one of them got a Black Lives Matter sign.”

“One of them started reaching and backing up,” the man said. “They start running back and the crowd started chasing them down there.”

“They running down the block and we turn around,” he added. “I go back.”

“We tell crowd to come back,” the protestor explained. “They continue to run after them… they start opening fire and they let off about eight rounds and they shot five people.”

Five demonstrators were shot, two with serious injuries and three non-fatally, at a Black Lives Matter protest in Minneapolis, Monday, after three white counter-protesters reportedly disrupted a protest for Jamar Clark.

The shots were reportedly fired outside the Minneapolis 4th Precinct Police Department, where a protest camp is currently being held for 24-year-old Clark after he was shot by police last week.
The activists, who have been stationed at the site for a week, are refusing to leave the Minneapolis police station until their demands are met, which include the release of police video tapes of the Clark killing, and the prosecution of the two police officers, Mark Ringgenberg and Dustin Schwarze, involved in man’s death.

Breitbart News hasn’t independently confirmed the authenticity of the video.

And The StarTribune is reporting the police have arrested two of the three suspects.

“Police have arrested two of the three white men who allegedly fired into a crowd near the Black Lives Matter encampment Monday night,” reported the StarTribune.
