Sen. Pat Toomey (R-PA) promoted amnesty for potentially 3.5 million illegal aliens as a “package” deal, right after admitting that such a move would lead to a “flood of new illegal immigration.”

In an interview on the Fox Business Network, Toomey touted the idea that the Republican establishment is interested in a year-end amnesty deal that would hand over a pathway to U.S. citizenship to nearly 800,000 to 3.5 million illegal aliens who are either enrolled or eligible for the President Obama-created Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program.

“On DACA, I think it’s a little bit complicated, and I think there are other aspects that we ought to deal with,” Toomey said.

“When, and if, we are going to, which I suspect we will, I think we all feel very sympathetic to folks who were brought to this country as young children for instance. But if you do grant a legal status, an amnesty, to those folks, which many of us could support, you have to acknowledge that it also encourages other people to do likewise, to bring their undocumented kids,” Toomey continued.

“It could invite a flood of new illegal immigration, so we should deal with some of the consequences of that, and I think it should all be dealt with in a package,” Toomey said.

Toomey seemingly rolling over on DACA amnesty is similar to that of Congressman Carlos Curbelo (R-FL), who yesterday announced that not only would he vote for a clean DACA amnesty deal with no pro-American immigration reforms included in it, but he’d also vote to shut down the federal government if he did not get his way.

“I will make some news here of particular interest to our friends in the fourth estate,” Curbelo said, as Breitbart News reported. “I am announcing today that I will not support any appropriations bill that funds the government beyond December 31st unless we get this DACA issue resolved.”

“And by the way, it doesn’t have to be included in the spending bill, but it has to get done,” Curbelo said. “Again, as long as it gets done I’m okay with a stand-alone bill, if it’s part of another package, let’s just get it done.”

Toomey’s and Curbelo’s support for DACA amnesty — which would lead to a potential chain migration of 9.9 to 19 million foreign nationals coming to the U.S. — is in stark contrast from the Trump administration’s position on the issue.

A White House official stated this week that any deal to permanently allow DACA illegal aliens to remain in the U.S. must “first deliver for American citizens and workers.”

“His priorities are securing the border with a wall, closing legal loopholes that enable illegal entry, interior enforcement and combating visa overstays, and ending chain migration,” the White House official said.

A recent Morning Consult/Politico poll found that less than 30 percent of Americans said giving DACA illegal aliens amnesty should be a priority, Breitbart News reported.

Meanwhile, a whopping 82 percent of Americans said helping unemployed Americans find jobs should be a higher priority for Congress than providing work permits to illegal aliens, a poll conducted by National Research Inc./The Polling Company found. A total of 78 percent of Democrats agreed that unemployed Americans should be helped before illegal aliens are.
