Chicago: Concealed Permit Holder Shoots Robbery Suspect in Head

A concealed carry permit holder in Chicago shot a robbery suspect in the head while walking Monday afternoon.

The Sun-Times reports that 25-year-old concealed permit holder was walking “in the 2500 block of South California Avenue” when the 20-year-old suspect allegedly approached with a handgun. The concealed permit holder drew his own gun and shot the suspect in the head.

CBS Chicago reports that police confirmed the 25-year-old has a valid Firearm Owners Identification (FOID) card and a valid concealed carry permit.

The suspect is hospitalized in critical condition. The concealed carry permit holder was not injured.

On December 12, 2017, Breitbart News reported that a concealed carry permit holder in Chicago shot and critically wounded a suspect who allegedly approached his car with a firearm and on January 8, 2019, Breitbart News reported that a woman with a concealed permit shot and killed an alleged robber on Chicago’s South Side.

On April 28, 2019, Breitbart News reported that a concealed permit holder in Chicago shot and killed an alleged carjacker.  WGN-TV reported that the shooting occurred after a Volkswagen driver rear-ended a BMW about 3 a.m. The BMW driver exited his vehicle to check the damage and was allegedly accosted by the other driver as he turned to get back into car. The BMW driver managed to get his gun and shoot the Volkswagen driver.
